What Jesus said about divine healing

What Jesus said about divine healing

In His words below Jesus clearly said that it is God’s will that everyone should be healed and remain free from sickness and disease. Sickness never comes from God and is not used by Him. The Father has provided numerous ways for people to be healed. Jesus himself dealt with each person in a unique way. Healing can be a sovereign act of God, it can be under a special anointing, or from laying on of hands of a believer, or perhaps best of all by receiving the healing that Jesus won for us at Calvary when He died for our salvation, spirit, soul and body. The scriptures below confirm this in what Jesus said and did:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.John 10:10

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.John 10:10

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.Luke 4:18,19

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.Matthew 8:2,3

These twelve Jesus sent forth, saying,…Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give.Matthew 10:5a,8

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. …And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.Luke 10:1,9

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.Mark 16:15-18

And Jesus looking upon them saith;  With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27

What Jesus did about Healing

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.Mark 5:25-34

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years, And they were astonished with a great astonishment. Mark 5:41-42

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.Acts 10:38

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That if might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet Esaias, saying, Himself took our infirmities and and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8:16,17

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.Mark 8:22-26

And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. 4But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.Mark 6:1-6

Other Healing scriptures

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.Isaiah 53:4,5

Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.1 Peter 2:24

He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Psalm 105:37

Summary

Jesus said he came that we might have abundant life. All sickness is from the devil, not God. God doesn’t use sickness to teach His children! God’s will is that all are healed and remain well. When four million Israelites slaves left Egypt there was not one feeble (sick) one among them! Faith in God’s word allows us to receive His healing. Jesus demonstrated that it was the Father’s will, by healing all that came to Him. At Calvary Jesus paid the price for our health spirit, mind and body.

It is possible to receive healing from an anointed person in large gathering. Healing can also come from laying on of hands by another believer or anointing with oil by your elders. These healings can be lost if we don’t develop our own faith in God’s word. The best way to receive the healing is the same way we received forgiveness of sin, by believing God’s word, confessing it true in our life and acting as though it were already accomplished.
