About this Jesus Said website

Vision

The vision is that the words of Jesus published on this site will encourage many Christians to become true disciples who encourage others to become disciples who in turn encourage other ad infinitum; just like the early church.

Purpose

This web site concentrates exclusively on the words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ during His time on earth.  The purpose is twofold:

1) For Christians it is to provide them with tools and starting points to help them become disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Disciple being defined by the words Jesus said to his disciples recorded by John and Mathew.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.John 15:7,8

Go then and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days, to the close and consummation of the age. Matthew 28:19,20

Jesus clearly showed by word and deed that every disciple disciples others. If a disciple doesn’t disciple others he’s not a disciple.

2) For non-Christians it is to make them aware of the wonderful free gift of salvation. Those who accept the Lord are then encouraged to become true disciples of the Lord Jesus as described in purpose 1) above.

Why the words of Jesus?

Why did Jesus place this emphasis on His words?

So faith comes by hearing what is told, and what is heard comes by the preaching of the message that came from the lips of Christ the Messiah Himself.Romans 10:17 AMPC.

Knowing and acting on the words of Jesus is the only way to build the faith of God in our lives that will enable us to be filled with His knowledge and power in order to know and do His will.

How to use this site

The best way to use this site is to concentrate on Jesus words quoted here. The observations that we have added are merely starting points to wet your appetite for God’s wonderful words. That is why most pages have the words of Jesus first, followed by other scriptures and then a brief summary.

Many of His words may seem very strange at first, for example: I and the Father are one, be born again, baptise in the Holy Ghost, I will make you fisher of men, my peace I leave you, give and it shall be given to you, when you pray believe you receive, thy faith hath made thee whole (healed), the Spirit will guide you. However strange these words sound, if you receive them and act on them you will see the power of God. You will experience the abundant life that God wants you to have. Don’t take our word for it, take God’s word!

Style and content

This site’s apparent simplicity of the design, style and content  follows the Apostle Paul, who himself followed the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul said:

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.1 Corinthians 2:1,2,4,5.

The glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is deceptively simple yet so profound. It is intended to be accessible to all people, particularly those who are less blessed with this world’s goods, and abilities.

Summary

In summary the intention is that all may know him, (Jesus Christ) and the power of His resurrection.Phil 3:10 Receive His words and be blessed, and when you are blessed, perhaps you’d think of the Lord’s command in Matthew 28:19,20 and tell someone else about Jesus and His words.
